Glenn MacLean. 
 
Glenn is a New Zealand national (a proud kiwi) who came to Australia in 1988. Throughout the 1980’s Glenn was passionate about fitness and exercise as many kiwis are and strived for excellence in the body building arena... not with the intention to achieve a professional body builder status, but to strive to be the best he could be in his own right. So herein began the journey that delivered Glenn to where Syn-Tec is today. 
 
Years of training and personal research into sports nutrition has resulted in Glenn developing a broad knowledge of weight and strength training techniques along with an appreciation for the role proper nutrition plays in helping to achieve specific sports performance goals. 
 
Years of personal experimentation using dietary supplements combined with proper nutrition and weight training principles contributed a lot towards Glenn’s overall successes and a well balanced life. It is Glenn’s belief that a well balanced life combined with exercise and proper nutrition helps keep harmony in everyday living. Harmony helps to maintain a clear mind and healthy body which in turn enables one’s self to be focused on ones goals. 
 
During the early 1990’s Glenn began importing nutritional dietary supplements from the USA and New Zealand for his personal use. These were needed to support his nutritional diet to help him achieve his goals in growing a well balanced symmetrical body. Not to be competitive in the professional sport of body building, but just to achieve a personal best for himself. The success Glenn enjoyed with his nutritional approach to support his training and exercise performance was witnessed by many of his peers and other participants from other sporting codes who wanted to know his secrets. There were no secrets, just a sound base of knowledge in regards to proper exercise and nutrition, which Glenn then shared with everybody who wanted to learn. 
 
This resulted in Glenn not only importing his own nutritional supplements, but also supplies of the same for his learned friends. As the sports nutrition industry started to grow in the mid 1990’s Glenn witnessed a huge demand for quality sports supplements of which the Australian market lacked and decided to commercialize his personal success… this was the conception stage of Syn-Tec Nutriceuticals.  
 
Glenn then approached his connections in the sports nutrition industry in New Zealand and formed a joint venture business model that was vertically integrated with systems to manage both the manufacturing and then distribution and supply so that total control and attention to quality could be assured. Food manufacturing processes in New Zealand at that time were supported by very broad dietary supplement regulations which underpinned the development of formulations that could meet the growing demands of professional athletes... this was the official birth of Syn-Tec Nutriceuticals. 
 
The 21st century was now upon us and Syn-Tec Nutriceuticals under Glenn’s leadership developed a unique business model which propelled Syn-Tec to even greater heights. In the early 2000’s Glenn was marketing the Syn-Tec brand through a small group of professional sports nutrition retailers who actually had a sound knowledge of the science behind sports specific nutrition. Personal trainers and sports coaches formed a secondary retail front line that also represented the Syn-Tec product range in a very professional and respected manner. Larger distribution networks were then further established with alliances being formed with dominant retailers in the sports nutrition market and even further expansion into contract manufacturing was established as our industry peers identified Syn-Tec’s research and development team as being one of the best and sought their services to formulate other third party branded products. 
 
Then the internet came into its own in the late 2000’s and Syn-Tec Nutriceuticals like all businesses got caught in the internet wave and found its products being sold by many online retailers. This helped to further strengthen the brand and as a result “you” are reading this story today.  
 
It must be remembered that Glenn founded Syn-Tec with a vision to bring to market a range of quality dietary supplements that he would use himself." If they’re not good enough for me to use then they’re not good enough for our customers". Quality is what drives and underpins the continued success of the whole Syn-Tec business model.
