What is HMB and how much do I need to take?
HMB is short for beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate. It is one of the most popular body building supplements today. HMB is a metabolite of leucine, one of the body's essential amino acids. There are small amounts of HMB present in many foods, primarily catfish, grapefruit, and alfalfa. The amounts eaten by Body Builders are supplemented by taking dietary supplements as they would have to eat a lot of food to get the neccessary required serving to support your performance goals...
Generally, 3 gms of HMB is taken daily with a protein rich diet in combination with regular exercise. Take it before training and before bedtime for best results.
